Hand tied weft extensions are very popular for those women that lots of volume and fullness. Weft extensions are extremely gentle and can be applied on most hair types ranging from fine to thick hair. They are low maintenance and great for the active woman. Because they attach without adhesive or keratin, these bonds stand up better to frequent shampoos, swimming and working out. Here's everything you need to know.

How are Hand Tied Weft Extensions applied?

The reference to "hand tied" can mean different things so let's elaborate. The wefts themselves can be either hand-finished or machine finished, depending on the desired density. Then, the attachment method, a beaded row method, involves hand sewing. Section by section, a row of beads is attached to the natural hair. Once a new beaded row is in place, wefts are fastened onto each bead using a needle and nylon thread. When you see the beads, you'll be amazed at how tiny they are. They can be positioned close the scalp, which gives them a real natural look. There are no limits on styling. Hair can be pulled back and worn up in a pony tail or a bun, even parted and braided.

How long they last:

You can typically get at least 6 months of wear out of any of these extensions, and some can last much longer than that. It will depend on the brand of the hair and the home care. Weft extensions need to be removed and resewn into place every 6 weeks or so, depending on wear and tear. If you are gentle on your extensions, you may be able to go several weeks longer before needing maintenance.

Color:

Hair comes pre-colored in a selection of natural shades, rooted an balayage shades, and fashion colors. Colors can be mixed and matched to create dimension, highlights and lowlights. The hair can also be custom colored.
