Like other keratin bond extensions, Great Lengths keratin bonds (GL Pre-Bonded) are designed for one-time use due to the nature of the bonds. However, GL Tapes may be reapplied for up to 2 additional wears depending on your hair and maintenance routine.

The cold fusion method, also known as GL Ultrasonic Touch, is a small device that uses ultrasonic waves to active the keratin bond so that it attaches to the natural hair. Because it doesn't use any heat, it's ideal for clients with fine or fragile hair and still results in a discreet, seamless look like the thermal method. We offer both the cold and thermal application methods at our Houston salon.

Great Lengths, both keratin bonded and the tapes, use 100% Remy human hair, ethically sourced from India. It is the best hair you can buy. The strands are aligned in the same direction (Remy), which prevents tangling and preserves shine. The hair is also Double Drawn to ensure thickness from root to tip for a fuller, healthier look.

GL Pre-Bonded (keratin bonds/k-tips) extensions can last 4 to 6 months with proper care and maintenance. Factors like hair type, lifestyle, and how well you follow care instructions will affect longevity. GL tapes can be worn 4-6 weeks at a time before they need to be removed, re-taped, and reapplied. Once removed, hair can be re-applied up to 3 more times, giving you a total wear time comparable to that of the keratin bonds.

Use sulfate-free, extension-safe shampoos and apply conditioner only from mid-length to ends. Avoid oils or heavy conditioners near the bonds, and skip any alcohol-based styling products.  Avoid pulling or tugging at the bonds. Brush gently with an extension brush and secure your hair in a braid or ponytail while sleeping. We'll give you personalized care tips following your installation.

Yes! Great Lengths hair extensions are made from 100% human hair, so you can curl, straighten, or blow-dry them just like your natural hair. Just avoid direct heat on the bonds themselves, whether they are keratin bonds or tapes.

We recommend using a loop brush or a soft bristle brush designed for hair extensions. These brushes glide through the hair without catching on the bonds, helping you prevent damage while tangling every day.
